摘要： The invention generally relates to a new mechanism for varying the rotationalspeed between two rotating shafts, one being motor, the other receiver. Such amechanism will replace the gearbox, typically used on motor vehicles. The mechanismconsists of two truncated cones (3) and (5), the generatrices of which are concave, fixedrespectively to a shaft (2) integral with the engine (1) and a shaft (6) integral with themovement transmission elements and between which a double inverted cone roller (4)whose generatrices are convex, mounted on an arm (10) via an axis (9) is interposed toensure the rotational connection between the cones ( 3) and (5). This is ensured byadhesion caused on one hand by the choice of materials used and, secondly, by thepressing force exerted by the roller (4) on the truncated cones (3) and ( 5) by a pressureof one mechanism (7). The roller (4) moves in translation on the generatrices of the conefrustums (3) and (5) through any variation system (8) which, depending on its position, toadjust the ratio of scaling the different parameters affecting the smooth running of thewhole.
