Dear Sirs,

Thank you for your prompt delivery of the 30 cartons of woolen sweaters. However

it was with great regret that we found 5 cartons of them were spoiled

by water and lost their shapes by heating and sweating.

We immediately had the spoiled goods examined by qualified surveyors and obtained the survey report evidencing the causes as mentioned above. Since the whole lot of the consignment had been insured against All Risks we will at first lodge a claim on the insurer for compensation. However, the surveyors also pointed out that there was a possibility for the insurer to decline the claim on the grounds that all damages were due to the seller’s improper packing. If this proves to be reality, then we will, regretfully

have to lay a claim on you.

We will keep you informed of any progress for the ongoing claim, which we will try our utmost efforts to make successful, against the insurance company.
